RMK to increase copper production 1.5 fold by 2015

Russian Copper company (RMK), the third largest copper producer in the Russian Federation, is about to increase copper production by 1.5 times by 2015 at the expense of development of 2 deposits in the Chelyabinsk region. The company also sizes up the deposit in Africa.

RMK’s president V.Levin said that the development of the deposits in the Urals (Mikheevskoye and Tominskoye) will contribute to an increase of the production capacity up to 330.000 tons of copper a year in cathode equivalent against the current 200.000 tons.
