Nadezhdino metallurgical plant has held a unique reconstruction of a smelting furnace

​The participants of the repair of the flash smelting furnace #1 of the Nadezhdino metallurgical plant have been awarded by the management of Norilsk Nickel.

The Nadezhdino metallurgical plant has held a unique reconstruction of a flash smelting furnace #1 of the first technological line.

28 participants of the capital repair were awarded by the Trans-Polar branch of Norilsk Nickel. All the works were held by the specialists of Norilsknickelremont and Trans-Polar construction company. In total about a thousand people were engaged in the repair.

The repair is unique by the period of its holding as well. Previously the repair took 100-180 days. Now we managed to do it within 60 days. Similar repair works have never been held within the scheduled time anywhere in the world, the head of the Nadezhdino metallurgical plant, E. Borzenko, said.

The flash smelting furnaces #1 and #2 are the head units of the Nadezhdino metallurgical plant in the chain of processing of sulphide concentrates with the production of nickel matte with further processing in converters and production of converter matte – alloy with a high content of non-ferrous metals.
