Bo Andersson, the president of "AvtoVAZ", stated the company would make a choice in favour of the Magnitogorsk metal.
In particular, MMK will supply the Lada Largus estate body. The automaker has decided to abandon the European steel in favor of the Russian one. According to Andersson, 60% of the steel used by "AvtoVAZ" derives from Magnitogorsk. This once again confirms the quality of the partnership between the two companies.
Switching to Russian steel in the manufacture of one of the most popular models of the Lada brand will allow the company to increase the level of production localization. Now it is 75 percent for Lada models line and 51 per cent for Renault-Nissan cars.
