Evraz freezes rolling mill construction for about 1 year

The construction of the enterprises started as far back as in 2008. The project is valued at $158 million with a pay-back period of 13 years.
Evraz Plc. has terminated the construction of a rolling mill “Yuzhny stan” in the Rostov region. The sales manager of OOO “TK Evraz-Holding” N.Kolomiets said about it at the conference in Novosibirsk.
He has noted on the sidelines of the conference that the construction would continue at the end of 2014 or early 2015. Kolomiets said that they have already purchased and arranged the equipment at the production shops of the plant. But the company doubts to invest into the construction of new large-scale production. Investments will be directed for an updating of the existing plants.
