The largest HBI shop is constructed at Lebedinsky GOK

The active phase of the construction and installation works of the third shop of hot briquetted iron plant (HBI plant-3) has started at theLebedinsky GOK of Alisher Usmanov’s Metalloinvest, the press centre of Metalloinvest reported.

The production capacity of the new HBI plant is 1.8 million tones per year that makes it the largest HBI enterprise in the world.

The main supplier of equipment is the consortium of Siemens VAI and Midrex, which will also perform the necessary automation of the first and second stages. The City Design Institute of metallurgical plants, a part of Metalloinvest, is also involved in the implementation of the project.
