The new longwall face has coal reserves of 3.4 mln tons and will be worked out within 2 years.
Mechel has reported of the launch of a new longwall face 21-1-9 at the Olzherasskaya-Novaya mine working in the structure of Yuzhny Kuzbass.
The development of the longwall face is held by the technology of coal production in plies that allows to develop the layers with the capacity of up to 10 m extract the maximally possible coal volume in one stage and significantly reduce the risks of endogenuous fire.
In 2016 it is planned to extract about 2 mln tons of coal, CEO of Mechel-Mining Ltd, P. Shtark said.
