UC Rusal may invite Chalco to Siberia

UC Rusal considers possibility to start a joint project with Chinese company Chalco in Eastern Siberia, Reuters reports.

The possible joint project with Chalco is based on the rich mineral deposits in Eastern Siberia, its hydropower potential and its proximity to China, UC Rusal’s director of strategy, business development and financial markets Oleg Muhamedshin said on the margins of the meeting of the World Economic Forum in Tianjin (China).

"We consider a potential joint project in Eastern Siberia in Russia, - said Oleg Muhamedshin. - The market still has significant reserves, so it is not a project of the near future, but the medium term one, as the market will be in short supply, and we will consider this project to cover the growing consumption".
