CherMK modernizes CC machines
The Cherepovets metallurgical plant (in the structure of Severstal Russia Steel) starts the reconstruction of 3 CC machines. The goals of the projects are the increase of quality of finished rolled products by means of stabilization of the steel pouring process and expenditure cutting for production.
In the framework of the investment project it is planned to equip the tundish of the CC machine by the devices of quick replacement of jars. The value of works on the shipment and installation is about 140 mln roubles.
The installation of the system of metal level regulation at the crystallizer with the accuracy of +/- 1 mm is planned. In general the reconstruction of casting machines will allow to reduce the total production of technological cutoff, nonconforming products and defects by 29 thousand tons a year. the economic effect from the implementation of the new equipment will make up about 70 mln roubles a year.
Equipment supplier is Vesuvius (Germany). Start-up and commissioning works at 3 CC machines are planned for December 2016, completion of a full complex of works – in Q2 2017.
