In Q1, gold production in Chukotka decreased

In January-March 2016, subsoil users of Chukotka produced 6.803 tons of gold, which is by 12.67% less than in the same period of 2015, while the silver production increased by 7.43% to 36.713 tons, the Department of Industrial Policy, Construction and Housing of Chukotka reports.
The entire volume of gold was mined at ore deposits, the placer mining of precious metals in the region is seasonal, and usually lasts from May to September, the Department explained.
