ChTPZ has launched a new mill ccosting 15 mln roubles

The production of seamless hot-rolled pipes has been modernized at the Chelyabinsk pipe rolling plant (ChTPZ). The press service of the enterprise reported that a band mill with 15 mln roubles value had been launched at the pipe rolling shop.

The new equipment is meant to cut pipes, sections out of various metals and alloys with the diameter of up to 600 mm, its throughput capacity is 100 m a minute. The mechanical method of cutting with the help of the band mill has replaced the technology of fire method of pipe end cutting. The press service of ChTPZ reported about the peculiarities of the new equipment: products treatment with the help of the UMSY 600SP mill provides a smooth pipe cutting and excludes the areas of thermal influence thus allowing to reduce metal expenditure – about 5 kg of metal is saved from each pipe.

Today ChTPZ has fully mastered the regimes of cutting the entire range of products at the new equipment and is ready to ship pipes of strict length to its consumers, without additional changes. The main consumers of these products are the enterprises of the car manufacturing and energy sectors.
