Coal sector of Russia lost 28% of investment in 2014

The investment volume into the coal sector of Russia in 2014 made up 58 bln roubles.

The deputy head of the department of coal and peat sector of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, S. Shumkov, said that the investment volume into coal in 2014 fell by more than a quarter.

According to him, 83% of investment is the funds of the companies.

Mr. Shumkov added that there is still a tendency of price fall for coking coal from $133 to $113 in the world markets, to $66 for thermal coal.

The revenue might rise due to the difference in the exchange rate, but the prices have a tendency to falling, he said.
