"Mechel" enters the second round.

The company wants to extend the loan repayment until 2023.

"Mechel", which almost agreed on restructuring $ 6.18 billion of debt and its repayment by 2020 with all the key creditors, is now trying to persuade them to restructure the debt until 2023. This, according to "the Kommersant", delays the whole negotiation process, including the sale of the Elga coal deposit to Gazprombank, necessary to restructure the debt of "Mechel" to Sberbank. "Mechel" is justifiably wary wishing to defer payment, but banks are unlikely to go for it, the analysts inform.
