Billets exports from the CIS states to increase prices slowly

At the beginning of October, the fall of prices on the Middle Eastern market of billets changed into slow growth. From the beginning of the current month, the main producers increased their products prices by $5-10 per ton. At the end of September and first days of October, semi-finished products were sold at the price of $490-495 per FOB ton, and November products is offered at the price of $495-500 per FOB ton, although the upper level of this interval hasn’t been supported by concrete deals.

Undoubtedly, the fact that October supply of semi-finished products decreased a little as compared with the previous month helped the metallurgists. Besides, in the second half of September, rollers from Egypt, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates bought rather big volumes of the products. This helped to avoid the overhang of the Turkish market and maintained prices of suppliers. And at the beginning of October, a small rise in price of metal scrap occurred in Turkey that also became a good signal for billets producers.
