UC Rusal has asked the concern Rosenergoatom (a part of Rosatom) to use the model of preferential energy supply at the Nadvoitsky aluminium plant (NAZ) in Karelia, which is the same as the model, used for the Bogoslovsky aluminium plant (BAZ) in the Sverdlovsk region, a source, who is familiar with the proposal of the aluminium company, reported to the agency Prime.

In December of 2012, Rosenergoatom and UC Rusal signed a contract on electricity supply to BAZ from the Beloyarskaya atomic power plant (the Sverdlovsk region) at the price of 97 kopecks (3 cents) per 1kW/h in 2013-2014 in volume, which is necessary for the aluminium production at the sixth line of the plant. The contract was concluded within the fulfillment of the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s order and plan of events, developed by the Ministry of Economic Development and coordinated with President Vladimir Putin.
