The Media: "UC Rusal" sells the enterprises in Nigeria and Kazakhstan

UC "Rusal" intends to sell its foil production business, the Nigerian aluminium plant Alscon and 50% in Kazakh "Bogatyr Komire", "the Vedomosti" writes citing the BCS analysts. Following the meeting with the managers of the aluminium company the analysts stated that the talks are in "an advanced stage", the sale of non-core assets could bring UC "Rusal" approximately $ 1 billion.

The issue source close to one of UC "Rusal"’s shareholders and a source close to the company confirmed that it is negotiating on the sale of the foil production business, the Alscon plant and share in "Bogatyr Komire". Meanwhile, the spokesman of UC "Rusal" stated that "the company is exploring various options related to the development of the non-core assets, but no concrete decisions have been taken".
