UC Rusal and its consumers ask for protection from import

On Tuesday, June 9th, representatives of UC Rusal, Rostec, Alcoa (owns plants for the production of rolled products and aluminum products in Samara and Belaya Kalitva), the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and the United Shipbuilding Corporation announced the establishment of the Association of Aluminum Producers and Consumers at the meeting in the Ministry of Industry. This was reported to the Vedomosti by UC Rusal’s sales director, Roman Andryushin and confirmed by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, UAC and Alcoa. The Association is needed to increase the aluminum consumption in Russia and the CIS countries, as well as to reduce the proportion of imported aluminum products, said Andryushin.
