The Magadan region expects a substantial increase in gold production in 2016, said the governor of the region Vladimir Pecheny at the meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"A new enterprise was launched (Arlan, the Pavlik deposit), which is, let's say, the beginning of the active development of our Yano-Kolyma gold province. By the way, this project was presented at the East Forum. The first gold of this enterprise has been received already. This year, it will be plus two tons. And taking into account the plans of the investment campaign, we expect that next year there will be a significant increase in the gold production, "- he said.
