Russian metallurgic plant demands to pay debt from Interpipe

Oskol Electric Steel Works (OEMK, the Belgorod region, Russia) has appealed to the Commercial court of the Belgorod region with a claim to two enterprises of the corporation Interpipe, the Capital writes.

The Russian enterprise requires to pay debt to the total amount of about 93 million rubles (about $23 million) from the Ukrainian company. The Commercial court took the OEMK’s claims for consideration.

The court’s definitions say that OEMK demands from Interpipe Nyzhnedneprovsky pipe plant to pay the debt and penalty to the total amount of over $20 million and from Interpipe Niko Tube - the debt and penalty in the amount of nearly $3 million.

Preliminary hearings on both claims are scheduled for January 20, 2014. The trial’s documents don’t specify reasons of the debt of the Ukrainian enterprises to OEMK.
