Vorkutaugol has launched 3 new longwalls

​Vorkutaugol JSC – one of the largest coal extraction companies in Russia, in the structure of Severstal – has launched 3 new longwalls at the Vorkutinskaya, Zapolyarnaya and Komsomolskaya mines.

Longwall 1022 was put into operation at the Troinoi layer at the Vorkutinskaya mine.

Meanwhile the extraction is held at the volume of 3 thousand tons – the planned daily loading but it is planned to be increased. The face length is 315 m, the length of the extraction column is 1,066 m. the reserves make up 1.24 mln tons in plies. There are no mining and geological violations in it.

Longwall 1312 of the Cherverty layer was put into operation at the Zapolyarnaya mine. The face length is 300 m. The driftage at its preparation was held by the teams of the Vorkutinskaya and Zapolyarnaya.

This longwall is the first step towards the unification of mine fields of the Zapolyarnaya with Vorkutinskaya, director of Zapolyarnaya, A. Vovk, said. It is located on the border of 2 enterprises. Fresh stream of air reaches the longwall from the Zapolyarnaya by the ventilation system and the flow goes to the new up-cast of the main ventilation of Vorkutinskaya.
