Metalloinvest starts the construction of the 3rd unit for direct reduced iron production

Metalloinvest has started an active phase of the construction and installation works of the third HBI unit with production capacity of 1.8 million tons per year at the Lebedinsky GOK in Gubkin (the Belgorod region.), the company reports.
The new unit will be the largest in the world. The main supplier of equipment is the consortium Siemens VAI and Midrex, which will also performs the necessary automation of the first and second levels. The implementation of the project also involves the Urban Institute of Metallurgical Plants Engineering, a part of Metalloinvest.
