AMKR to stop Martin furnaces by 2015

The difference in production between the converters and DSPA-6 will provide for the execution of the business plan for steel production at a rate of 6.6 million tons without the Martin shop. The measure will reduce expenses into energy resources including natural gas, oxygen and water and fire-proof materials. Under the norms of metal charge consumption, metal yield is by 5-6% higher in the converter shop in comparison to the Martin shop.
