Development of South Russian metallurgy is the most dynamical in the country

Fulfillment of large construction and infrastructural projects in southern regions is supported by improvement of production facilities of metallurgical enterprises. Experts say, the enterprises will have to match with the new working conditions and high competition at the domestic market which becomes stronger and stronger after Russia’s entering the WTO.

BECOMING STRONGER

In 2012 Russian metallurgical industry used to grow rather moderate. Rosstat (Federal State Statistics Service) reported, the production increased by 2.1% compared to 2011. For the first two months of this year the rate of the industrial development has slowed down, having made up 97.5% of the level reached in January-February 2012. Experts explain, this has happened due to the seasonal slump which has become stronger due to the long winter. “This year winter disordered the arrangements of many Russian competitors at pipe and rolled metal markets. In spite of the beginning of April the precipitations were very large. The competitors reduced their sales plans for April and forecasted that April conjuncture would be similar to this in March and active construction season would start only in May”, A GRUPP company notes.
