StavStal to launch steel smelting facility in summer-fall 2016

The StavStal metallurgic plant is to launch its import replacing steel smelting facility in Q3 2016, the ministry of energy, industry and communications of the Stavropol region informed. Currently the investor and the regional industrial park need to provide the infrastructure for the project, they are currently working on connecting the new facility to the electric line via the Pechnaya substation. In 2014 StavStal already launched a building bars production facility with the capacity of 350 thousand tons. Launch of the electric steel smelting facility will improve the profitability, because the company will be able to produce pigs for building bars using scrap metal.
