In 2012, MMK increased dispatch of products from mill 5000 for bridge and ship building sectors, by 2 times to 67,000 tons to bridge building sector and by 3 times to ship building sector. In particular, Vyborg ship building plant bought 7,000 tons of rolled steel of normal and extended durability by State Standard R 52927-2008. This steel will be mostly used in construction of an ice breaker for Rosmorport FGUP. Now Vyborg ship building plant is one of the largest consumers of MMK’s steel for ship building.
