Oleg Deripaska to close down towns – UC Rusal to stop town-forming enterprises

The main shareholder and General Director of UC Rusal Oleg Deripaska has set the problem of the rescue of his assets in single-industry towns. He wants to close down four unprofitable aluminium plants; in this case it will be necessary to find job for 7,560 employees. But three of four plants are town-forming and it will be difficult to place workers in other jobs. In 2011, Oleg Deripaska wanted to cut down the production at the Bogoslovsky plant, but UC Rusal managed to find cheap electricity for the enterprise through Vladimir Putin.
