They started the coke battery repair at Evraz ZSMK

The repair of the coke battery with the use of the ceramic welding method has started at Evraz ZSMK. It will contribute to an increase of coke production by 135 thousand tons a year, reduce emissions into the atmosphere by 10% and extend the service life of the equipment. EVRAZ invests about 165 million roubles into the project.
In accordance with the ceramic welding technology the damaged area is treated with the help of a cleaning machine. After that special welding machines apply new material on the refractory work. The final operation is blowing of a special powder in order to seal all microcracks at the walls.
