Energy investment company starts mining lignite charcoal in the Cherkassy region

The Energy Investment Company has started to mine lignite charcoal in the Cherkassy region. The deposit’s reserves will be enough for 30 years

According to estimates of developers, the coal reserves of the Mokrokaligorskoye deposit make up about 7.7 million tons of coal, the official website of the company reports.

According to Pavel Kostenko, the technical director of the coal company, the deposit contains multiple heterogeneous reservoirs. The upper layer is friable coal which can be used for the manufacture of briquettes. Quality coal, which can be used as a fuel for power plants, is located deeper. The lower layer of coal may also be used after processing into briquettes. The ash content of the deposit’s coal is 12%.
