The RF increases coal mining by 1.3% and export – by 11.6% for 7 months

For the first 7 months of 2013 coal mining in the RF has increased by 1.3% compared to 2012 – to 199.8 million tons and export – by 11.6% - to 81.09 million tons. After the negative dynamics of the mining in Q1, 2013 compared to the same period in 2012 (due to the bad conjuncture) Russian companies started increasing mining and export of coal in Q2. The maximum level was registered in 1988. Since that time coal consumption in the RF has reduced 1.4 times in the main segments of the market. In conditions of the stagnation of internal consumption  the increase of the exports is the main stimulus to increase the mining. Competition with gas, the prices of which are regulated, is the main reason for lowering the demand at the domestic market.
