In 2015, Kazakhmys to continue modernization

Kazakhmys continues to implement a large-scale program of technical re-equipment of mining production and renovation of existing facilities, as well as t implementation of corporate major projects.

In 2014, most of the investment was aimed at maintaining and updating the existing equipment and implementation of capital mining operations at existing mines. Last year, the implementation of major projects in the Karaganda region started, such as "Development of a master plan and operational exploration of the Zhezkazgan deposit", "Construction of a pilot plant for hydrometallurgical processing of crude copper concentrate», «Smart-complex Nurkazgan." Research institutes were involved in the development of technological regulations for concentrators to improve the quality of ore processing. In addition, the construction crushing and conveying complex was completed at the West Nurkazgan project, the reconstruction of the Balkhash and Karagaily concentrators was over. The output of products at the Zhezkazgan copper smelter was resumed.
