In 2013, Russian steel to expect that metal consumption in Russia to increase by 2.4%

This year, the non uncommercial partnership Russian Steel forecasts the increase of metal consumption in Russia by 2.4% to 43 million tons from 42 million ton in 2012, the Chairman of the partnership’s Management Committee and Member of the TMK’s Board of Directors Sergei Papin reported.

In 2013, the total amount of investments of the metallurgic companies will supposedly decrease by over 20% to 100 billion rubles (according to basic scenario) from about 130 billion rubles in 2012.  But in case of optimistic development of the situation, the investments of the companies may be 140 billion rubles (+8%), Papin noted.
