Deripaska’s plants to have access to cheap power.
From May 1st the hydroelectric power stations, working in Siberia, may sell 65 % of their power at market prices rather than regulated contracts. One of the main proponents of this reform – is UC Rusal of Oleg Deripaska, who expects the prices in the Siberian energy market for his company will fall, RBC daily states.
The government published a decree authorizing hydroelectric power stations in Siberia to sell 65 % of theor power at market prices from May 1st. The remaining 35% HPP will sell under regulated contracts as before. Since 2016 HPP can sell for 80 % power at market prices, the resolution states.
The "Market Council" explained that the FTS tariff for supply of power under regulated contracts is about 30-40 thousand roubles/MW per month, the market price (formed in the competitive power) - 97 thousand roubles/MW per month.
