Chelyabinsk metallurgical plant has turned to special operations mode due to smog

​The Chelyabinsk metallurgical plant (in the structure of Mechel Group) has turned to a special operation mode for the period of unfavorable meteorological conditions, the press service of the plant reports explaining that with the help of the operative measures the plans reduces emissions into the atmosphere.

“The technological units of the Chelyabinsk metallurgical plant have turned to the operation mode necessary to provide the additional safety of production for the environment”, the plant says.

The press service reports that it has shut down the operation of a number of production shops as well as the works having a potential ecological danger have been restricted. The use and movement of transport of the Chelyabinsk metallurgical plant is restricted. The plant has strengthened the control over the operation of the dust and gas cleaning equipment.
