Average price per ton of aluminium in 2015 to make up $2 thousand –UC Rusal

UC Rusal keeps its forecast for aluminium prices in 2015 thinking that today the market is affected by speculation.

The largest aluminium producer in the world – UC Rusal – has made its primary forecast on the average price for aluminium in 2015 at the level of $2,000 per ton, CEO V. Soloviev, told Bloomberg.

Today’s price for aluminium at $1,800 per ton is the result of pressure from the part of speculative investors playing for lowering on the LME, Mr. Solovied said.

“Aluminium reserves at the LME stock houses are falling and we have a chance to see them lower than 4 mln tons in the near future. The out of the LME reserves are also falling and we assess them at the level of 3-4 mln tons”, Mr. Soloviev said.
