Mechel to ship up to 3 mln tons of coal to JFE Steel until August 2018

Mechel has signed a long-term agreement on coal supply to JFE Steel (Japan) which is one of the largest steel producers in Asia. The agreement is signed for 3 years until August 2018.
Mechel will annually ship up to 1 mln tons of steel to JFE Steel for metallurgical needs. It will mainly be coking coal concentrate of Yakutugol OJSC as well as coking coal concentrate from the Elga deposit.
Coal price will be determined based on the market environment.
Besides JFE Steel, Mechel ships coal to a number of other leading Japanese steel corporations.
JFE Steel is a consumer of coal from Neryungri from 1985.
