Alrosa is negotiating on the growth of direct sales with clients from South-Eastern Asia

Alrosa is negotiating on the growth of direct sales of diamond raw materials with the clients from the South-Eastern Asia, the Vice-PM, plenipotentiary President in the Far Eastern federal district, Y. Trutnev, said.

According to him, during the recent visit to Hong Kong the President of Alrosa, A. Zharkov, discussed this opportunity was discussed with the consumers. He asked if it is interesting for them to buy not via Europe but directly. The more direct the relationships are, the more transparency it brings, the better it is, he said.

Now Alrosa sells about 5% of products to China. Chow Tai Fook is a long standing customer of Alrosa, Luk Fook purchases raw materials of Alrosa on the spot trades.

We extract diamonds in Yakutia, sell them via Antwerp, then they go to the South-Eastern Asia. It is strange. When the chain is so long, and when the prices are determined by the intermediary, it is always doubtful whether it is transparent and correct. So now we start working on forming the electronic site. It will show the prices of direct sales Y. Trutnev said.
