In favorable conditions production of aluminum at Ural Aluminum plant may be resumed

After closure of aluminum production at its plants in the Sverdlovsk region UC Rusal continues to invest in their development. Bogoslovsk and Ural aluminum plnat (BAZ and UAZ) are profitable and begin to increase alumina production. In addition, UC Rusal doesn’t rule out the possibility of the resumption of aluminum production at one of its plants in the region. Director of the Alumina Division of UC Rusal Yakov Itskov tells about the current situation at plants in the Sverdlovsk region and production plans.

            - Could you describe the overall situation at the Sverdlovsk enterprises of UC Rusal? Are there any plans to close or reduce the production capacity? Don’t you expect a reduction at enterprises?

            - Today, BAZ and UAZ, Sevuralboksitruda (SUBR) and silicon enterprise operate in the Sverdlovsk region. Generally speaking, the enterprises are stable. Bauxite mining and the production of other products are carried out in accordance with business plan. Reduction of working week is not planned.
