Nickel shortage approaches the market in 2015
Nickel reserves in the storages of LME increased to record high 326.466 thousand tons since early 2014 despite the expansion of the global demand and nickel and concentrate export ban from Indonesia. But the analysts from the bank Goldman Sachs say an increase of reserves does not show the real picture of demand and supply. It is due to the moving of nickel from the storages in Australia and China.
Nickel resources in the storages of the city of Johore Bahru (Malaysia) increased by 44% up to 164.268 thousand tons in 2014. About 50% in the storages of LME fall on them. There kept 107.034 thousand tons or about 33% in the storages at the port of Rotterdam (Netherlands).
