In 2014 MMK spent 3.6 bln roubles for nature preserving activity.
In the framework of this ecological program the company held measures on the recultivation of lands, reduction of emissions of polluting substances into the atmosphere and water resources. The plant held works on the utilization of industrial wastes and landscaping.
In 2014 the gross emission of polluting substances fell by 900 tons, specific emission – by 8.8%. The volume of steel output rose by 9.1% at MMK in 2014, metal products – by 9.9%.
To cut the emissions the enterprise held the reconstruction of sulphur-collecting units and a cycle of coke gas cooling of block #1 as well as constructed an aspiration system of the casting unit of the blast-furnace #6.
