When it comes to energy security in Central and Eastern Europe, most governments think about gas pipelines.
The more pipes they have, the more secure they feel. Over the past decade, at least 10 large-scale projects were initiated and announced the best source of gas diversification and energy security.
However, only one was realized - Nord Stream, but Gazprom can fill only half of it. Therefore, analysts of oilprice.com believe the project uneconomical.
The reason for this is that large intercontinental pipelines are very risky, given the high volatility on the market.
