OJSC RZhD demands on tariffs growth

Gazprom enlists the support of the Ministry of Energy in a fight against the long-term tariff policy of the government. The establishment supported the demands of the company to increase gas tariffs above the rate of inflation. This week, OJSC RZhD has also managed to persuade the state to increase tariffs. But the companies are in different situations. The revenue of RZhD is formed with the help of tariffs, while “Gazprom” earns on its export, not in Russia.

The deputy head of the Ministry of the Economy, A.Klepach said yesterday that the Ministry of Energy has supported the growth of Gazprom tariffs as of 2015 above the level of inflation, but the decision has not made so far. According to him, the intensive growth of gas price influences the inflation level, it also has impact on housing and utilities tariffs. “Gazprom” asked for tariff increase for several times. The head of the Economic Expert Analysis and Pricing Department of Gazprom, E.Karpel said that the company insisted on the growth of tariffs by 2% above the inflation level in 2015, by 3% - in 2016 and 4% - in 2017 and further on. They did not comment on the situation in Gazprom and the Ministry of Energy yesterday.
