"Rosneft" and Lukoil intend to compete for new oil and gas licenses on the Norwegian shelf. Now because of the sectoral sanctions work of oil producers in the Russian Arctic is actually stopped, but it is not prohibited to conduct exploration and production abroad. The volume of oil shipment via the sea terminal of Caspian Pipeline Consortium at the port of Novorossiysk in Q1 2015 rose by 16.2% against Q1 2014 to 10 mln 979 thousand 539 tons, CPC reports.
In March the oil shipment rose by 19.4% to 3 mln 932 thousand 621 tons.
The pipeline system “Caspian Pipeline Consortium” is one of the largest investment projects in the energy sector with the participation of foreign capital in the CIS. The length of the pipeline that connects the oil deposits of the Western Kazakhstan with sea terminal in Novorossiysk is 1,511 km. The sea terminal CPC is equipped with the mooring fittings allowing to safely load tankers at a far distance from the coast, including in unfavorable weather conditions. The volume of oil shipment via the sea terminal CPC in 2014 rose by 22.2% to 39.9 mln tons.
The countries will develop the Caspian Basin together.
The Russian companies can take part in the grand project in Kazakhstan. Astana has invited them to begin drilling in the Caspian Basin. The first well with the cost of $ 500 million must reach the depth of 15 km. LUKOIL, "Gazprom" and "Rosneft" as well as Chevron and Shell were invited into the project, which was called "Eurasia". The presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev launched the "Eurasia" project yesterday, which involves drilling a 15-kilometer well in the area of the Caspian Basin. Chevron and 2 other foreign companies are going to apply for participation in the joint operator over the Ukrainian GTS. The official applications are awaited soon, after execution of all legal procedures.

They reported before that the Ukrainian GTS can pass under the management of Chevron. The interested companies still have much questions. After answering them all, the situation will be clarified.

"This gives us the opportunity to stop the construction of the "South Stream" and send all the volumes that are planned for the "South Stream" through the Ukrainian gas transportation system, as the countries - members of the European Union will be primarily interested in this", - he stated, introducing the bill on reforming the management of the unified gas transportation system of the Ukraine.
The document proposes to leave GTS and the underground gas storage facilities owned by the state, but a separate operating company will manage the system, 49% of the share is proposed to submit to the gas-transporters – the members of the EU and the United States.
