Gazprom goes on looking for oil and gas in Tajikistan

Gazprom will go on looking for oil and gas in Tajikistan, the head of the Main Geology Department of Tajikistan, D. Murod Hol, said. At the Sarikamysh oil and gas bearing site the first well Shakhrinav 1-p was drilled in 2010, at which Gazprom Inernational holds geological exploration. According to the head of Main Geology Department, the company goes on geophysical research works at the “Western Shokhambary” site with the potential hydrocarbons reserves. Geological studied are over but the state committee for reserves hasn’t received the company’s data on the reserves.

Putin signs law on ratification of agreement on supply of Russian petroleum products to Tajikistan

The Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a federal law on ratification of the agreement on cooperation with Tajikistan in the field of supply of petroleum products.
The document was published on the official web portal of legal information on July 3, 2016. 
The Russian State Duma ratified the agreement on the duty-free supplies of oil products from Russia to Tajikistan on June 21, 2016.

Skyland Petroleum to supply China with oil and gas from Russia, Tajikistan and Georgia.

Previously, "Rosneft" and Skyland Petroleum signed a Heads of Agreement for the sale of "Rosneft" up to 29% in LLC "Taas-Yuryakh Oil and Gas" and the creation of CG to develop the field in Yakutia.
The Australian company Skyland Petroleum plans to begin to supply China with oil and gas from Russia, Tajikistan and Georgia in 2016. As the Xinhua news agency reports, chairman of the company David Robson stated this in Shanghai on Wednesday.

Karim Massimov, the Kazakh Prime Minister, offered to proceed to settlements in the national currencies at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan). "We consider it possible to start mutual settlements in national currencies. We already have developments at the bilateral level, which could be transferred onto the entire organization", - Massimov stated.

A branch for gas supply to Southern Kyrgyzstan will be built from the pipeline of Turkmenistan – China

The professor, the member of the public supervisory council under the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan V. Kasymova says that it’s unreasonable to sell the lands of Kyrgyzstan in exchange for gas because in the future they expect the construction of the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan via the territory of the Alaysky district to China, and a branch for gas supplying to the Osh and Batkensky regions can be built from there. She claims that Kyrgyzstan possesses own hydrocarbon reserves and they should be developed with the attraction of investment. In her opinion, it’s wrong that Kyrgyzgaz is sold to Gazprom. One of the promises of Gazprom was to execute deposits exploration for gas and to develop industrial reserves if those are discovered. Kyrgyzstan should not agree with the demand of Uzbekistan to sell a part of the Kyrgyz lands for gas.

Gazprom plans to obtain license for Naftmaidon field in Tajikistan

Gazprom plans to obtain a license for work at the Naftmaidon field, which is located in the north of Tajikistan.
A subsoil user must have the appropriate license to carry out works at any site in Tajikistan. Gazprom hasn’t had such license for a while, but considers the possibility to obtain it.The prospects of the Naftmaidon field may be assessed only after its special study.
Gazprom is presented by Gazprom International in Tajikistan. This is a specialized enterprise of Gazprom on the implementation of projects in prospecting, geological exploration and production of hydrocarbons abroad.
The company plans to build a refinery or a gas processing plant in the territory of Tajikistan.
But, according to specialists, effectiveness of such enterprise creation in Tajikistan depends on results of the geological exploration and production of oil and gas in this country.

Kazakhstan becomes the major transiter of Turkmen gas to China

Turkmen gas exports to Russia stably reduces. Since the date of the launch from the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China via Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Russia gradually loses its leading position of Turkmen gas importer and transiter. However the income of Turkmenistan continues growing.
After collapse of the USSR, most of the representatives of the Turkmen political and economic elite left the state for Russia, the Ukraine or abroad the CIS. All that remained in Turkmenistan was the previously constructed oil and gas infrastructure and the pipeline system that includes the largest pipeline Central Asia – Center. They did not arise the point of cessation of Turkmen gas supplies to Russia then.
