Russia Oil and Gas, Nitrogenous Fertilizers
Bashkir company "Gazprom neftekhim Salavat" (GNS), one of the largest Russian petrochemical producers, completed the scheduled overhaul at the "Monomer" plant. It was conducted under the technical re-equipment of ethylene and propylene production, the press-service informs.
Within the repairs period, which lasted thirty days, new reactors were mounted on acetylene hydrogenation unit in ethane-ethylene fraction in the workshop № 56. The Group DF wants to take its gas from the underground storage facilities. The Ukrainian Group DF of Dmitriy Firtash threatens to thwart an attempt to fill to the maximumthe Kiev underground gas storage facilitiess (UGS) in anticipation of the winter peaks in demand. The company, which needs gas for its chemical plants, is going to challenge in the courts the government's ban on the increase of the private gas being taken from the underground storage facilities, threatening future shortages of fertilizers. If the Group DF and other private companies are able to withdraw their 5.5 billion cubic meters from the storages the gas reserves in Ukraine will fall by almost a third to 15.2 billion cubic meters.

Oil and oil products loading in the Surgut district increased by 10.7% up to 18.9 million tons in January-June 2014 against the same period last year. The head of Sverdlovsk Railroad (SvZhD, part of OJSC “RZhD”) A.Mironov said. “ the loading growth rate at SvZhD is mainly because of high paying freight. The growth is, first of all, due to active increase of the production and processing of hydrocarbons in the oil-and-gas sector in the north of Tyumen region, as well as the development of the Verchnekamsk deposit, the growth of potassium and nitrogen fertilizers at Solikamsk-Berezniki cluster, the production of building, mining and smelting cargo in Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Tagil regions,” ITAR-TASS reports citing Mironov.
