In Q1, 2016, Russia increased oil production by 3%

In the first quarter of 2016, Russia increased the oil production by 3% as compared to the same period in 2015 to 135.424 million tons, the Central Dispatch Department of the Fuel and Energy Sector reported on April 2, 2016.
In addition to the production, in the first3 months, the oil export increased by 3.8% to 62.652 million tons. The oil export through the Transneft’s system to the non-CIS countries increased by 2.5% to 48.902 million tons.

The Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan offers Turks to invest into the construction of a plant for the production of natural gas from coal.

The Ministry of Energy and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Turkish company signed a memorandum of understanding to build a plant for the production of gas from coal in Kyrgyzstan. The name of the company is not disclosed.
According to the memorandum, within three months the Turkish company has to report on the assessment of the effects of the proposed activity on the environment (EIA) considering the methods and technologies of coal gasification, which will be used for the production of synthetic natural gas, and other technical documentation with respect to synthetic natural gas produced in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic, Tazabek reports.

Kyrgyzstan hopes to increase investments into mining industry

The Kyrgyz Government has adopted a package of measures aimed at improving the conditions for investment in the mining sector; the corresponding document was signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic, Djoomart Otorbaev on Wednesday.
In particular, the Government defined the authority to perform certain types of expertise that will contribute to a more comfortable purchase of a license and a package of geological information; the procedure for participation in tenders and auctions for foreign legal entities was simplified. In addition, the share of the costs for participation in auctions was reduced for foreign investors.
About 80% of the Kyrgyz territory is located in mountainous regions, which are extremely rich in minerals. Copper, oil shale, peat, gas, oil, precious and rare earth metals are mined in the country. Rich deposits of antimony, mercury, uranium, zinc, tin, tungsten, lead etc. are located here.
