Transit of Russian gas to fall by 18% in 2015 to 51 bln cubic m – Ukrtransgas

In 2015 the transit of Russian gas via the Ukraine will fall to 51 bln cubic m against 62 bln cubic m in 2014, the President of Ukrtransgas, I. Prokopiv, said.

The Ukraine wants the EU to declare contract between Gazprom and Slovakia illegal

The gas contract between Gazprom and Slovakian Eustream does not let Ukrainian and European companies carry out  reverse gas supplies. So, the contract is contrary to the EU laws, they said in Kyiv and appealed to the European Union, Reuters reports.
The Ukraine’s premier, A.Yatsenyuk insists upon contract review between Gazprom and Eustream. Kiev also attached a letter of lawyers to their letter. It is said that Gazprom hinders the operation of “Ukrtransgaz” as an operator of gas transporting system.

Since the beginning of the year, Europe supplied 6 billion cubic meters of gas to the Ukraine, but it was Russian gas

Since the beginning of 2015, Europe imported 6 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the Ukraine, Ukrtransgaz reports.

A reserve gas pipeline from Zaporozhie might be constructed to Mariupol

​“Ukrtransgas” PJSC studies an opportunity of construction of a gas pipeline between Mariupol and Zaporozhie. This issue was discussed at the meeting of the head of Mariupol, Y. Khotlubei, and the head of the Kramatorsk line production management of main pipelines of Ukrtransgas, S. Taushan, on the results of elimination of the accident at the route gas pipeline “Kramatorsk-Donetsk-Mariupol-Berdyansk”.
“The necessity of construction of a new branch of the Mariupol-Zaporozhie gas pipeline was discussed. Its length will be 150 km, the approximate value of the project – about 1 bln grivna”, is reported.

Within 4 months of 2015 the Ukraine increases oil transit to Europe by 4.8%.

In January-April 2015 oil transit through the Ukraine to Europe increased by 4.8% (to 240.4 thousand tons) compared to the same period in 2014 - up to 5 million 244.2 thousand tons. According to the Ministry of Energy and Mining Industry, in April 2015 the transit of oil through the Ukraine decreased by 9% (to 129.2 thousand tons) compared to April 2014 - up to 1.313 million tons.

On June 1-13, the Ukraine imported 258 million cubic meters of gas

In the period of June 1-13, the Ukraine imported 258.058 million cubic meters of Russian gas, Ukrtransgaz reports.

Shell can close another project in the Ukraine – Kobolev.

Shell, which is engaged in oil and gas extraction, can close another project in the Ukraine because of the government's decision to set the rent at 55%, the chairman of the Board of Naftogaz Andrey Kobolev stated on air of the Shuster Live TV program.
"As the company Shell, just to clarify. There are several projects, one they really left because of the war in the east, unfortunately, the project viability, is now in question to continue or not, because the rent that the government has set a very high, "- said the Cobol.
He also criticized the policy of the Ministry of Finance: "55% for private companies is very high rents, but we hope that they will stay."

The Ukraine increases volume of gas, pumping into storages, through reverse supplies?

The Ukraine has reached the maximum daily index of gas pumping into underground storage facilities this year - 74.6 million cubic meters per day. This was announced by spokesperson of Ukrtransgaz Maxim Belyavsky.
According to the operative data of the operator of the gas transportation system of the country, most reverse gas is imported from Slovakia - 27.8 million cubic meters per day, the second highest volume of imports is Russia - 18.1 million cubic meters. Hungary again became the third foreign supplier of gas to the Ukraine since the beginning of June. The amount of the reverse from the country now is 2.9 million cubic meters per day.

The Ukraine straightens the path to the EU.

The Ukraine straightens the path to EU trying to take control of the transit of Russian gas.
The Ukraine has got a chance to deny "Gazprom" control over at least one gas flow route through the country to Europe. Having an agreement with the Hungarian FGSZ, Kiev demands that the Russian monopoly has provided data on the flow of gas. This will provide a virtual reverse, help getting away from Russia as a supplier of gas and create a hub. If "Gazprom" refuses, the Ukraine plans to put pressure on it by the European Commission under the antitrust case. The legal arguments of Kiev do not look too sure, but may be a cause for serious pressure on Moscow from Brussels.
