More than 30 mln tons of LNG exported from Sakhalin over 3 years

The operator of the project “Sakhalin-2” – company Sakhalin Energy – produced more than 30 mln tons of LNG over the first 3 years of the operation of the LNG plant, it exceeds the volume of the annual gas supply to Germany.

The LNG production plant Sakhalin Energy in the South of Sakhalin was launched in February 2009. Its project capacity is 9.6 mln tons a year, which is equivalent to 5% of the LNG production in the world. RIA Novosti reports. Read more »

South Stream flows to the Netherlands

The operator of the South Stream might change its registration.
The operator of the sea part of the South Stream gas pipeline might change its registration and move from Zug (Switzerland) to Amsterdam. It is first of all connected with the tax conditions. The shareholders will have to eliminate the old JV and found a new structure. However, it will not take  more than 2 weeks. Eni expects the investment decision about South Stream at the end of 2012 – beginning of 2013

The Italian oil and gas company Eni expects the final investment decision about the project of the building of the South Stream gas pipeline either at the end of 2012 or in the beginning of 2013, Reuters reports with reference to the statement of the Head of Eni, Paolo Scaroni.

“All four partners are working to make the final investment decision either at the end of December or in the beginning of 2013”, Scaroni said. Read more »

BP will not join Nord Stream

AAR has blocked the partnership of BP and Gazprom.
BP still hopes to become a strategic partner of Gazprom. After the failure with Rosneft at the shelf BP has tried to join the project of Gazprom on the construction of a new branch of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. However, this time the plans of BP have again been broken by the Russian owners of TNK-BP. They didn’t allow BP to participate in the Nord Stream by passing the shareholders agreement of TNK-BP.
