Rosneft may attract Japanese companies to its offshore projects

Rosneft may attract Japanese Marubeni, Inpex, Itochu, JAPEX and SODECO to its offshore projects, the Russian oil company’s press centre reported to the agency Prime.
On Wednesday, the Rosneft’s President and CEO Igor Sechin visited Japan within the working trip over the Asia-Pacific region.

Itochu interested in quickening of launch of LNG plant in Vladivostok

The Japanese Itochu Company is interested in quickening the launch of an LNG plant in Vladivostok, the CEO for the CIS states F. Kiyosi says. They orient to 2017-2018 whereas Itochu is eager to quicken the launch of the enterprise in order to outstrip possible competitors in gas sales in Japan. As for technical specifications, the plant’s projected capacity should be not less than 10 million tons of LNG annually. In addition, they are going to introduce at the enterprise in Vladivostok some new technologies connected with helium extraction and processing.

Sakhalin Energy to deliver 16 extra lots of LNG to Japan in 2012, governor

Sakhalin Energy, the operator of Sakhalin-2, will supply 16 additional lots of liquefied natural gas, produced at the only LNG plant in Russia, to the Japanese electro-generating gas companies in 2012. The governor of the Sakhalin region A.Khoroshavin said about it at a conference “Oil and Gas in Sakhalin”.  There has been delivered 11 extra lots of Sakhalin LNG to Japan in 2011. Read more »

Exxon plans to obtain first oil from Arkutun-Dagi deposit in 2014

The operator of the Sakhalin-1 project - Exxon Neftegas Limited plans to start drilling at the deposit Arkutun-Dagi in 2013, in 2014 – produce the first oil, the President of the company, J. Taylor said at the conference “Oil and Gas of Sakhalin”.
Yesterday the Government of Sakhalin said the drilling is planned to start in 2014.
At the present time the construction of the objects for the development of the Arkutun-Dagi deposit goes on. The largest in Russia offshore ice-breaking platform Berkut will be installed there.

Japan wants to participate in shelf projects of Rosneft

Marubeni Corporation from Japan is negotiating with Rosneft on the participation in the shelf projects of the largest Russian oil company in the Magadan region.
The representatives of the regional Administration met with the Japanese party to discuss the possibility of participation of Marubeni in the projects on molybdenum, wolfram and rare-earth metals production. Moreover, the Japanese Corporation wants to take part in the development of hydrocarbon deposits at the Magadan shelf. Read more »

Gazprom expects getting gas royalty from Sakhalin-2

Gazprom is waiting on the government's provision to get a gas royalty from Sakhalin-2,  vice-president of the company A. Ananenkov reported.


We are soon expecting the government to issue the provision on making Gazprom the authorized company to get gas that Russia owns.


Gazprom has 50% shares plus one in Sakhalin Energy (project’s operator), Shell has 27.5%, Mitsui – 12.5%, Mitsubishi – 10%. Currently royalty is done in monetary value. Read more »

Sakhalin Energy has increased “Vityaz” oil shipping by 10% - up to 6.1 mln tons in 2010.

In 2010 Sakhalin Energy (The Sakhalin-2 operating company) extracted and shipped more than 6.1 million tons of “Vityaz” oil from the Prigorodniy port terminal, 10% more than in 2009, the company reports. Oil was shipped to 14 clients in 2010: Japan (33.9%), Korea (33,6%), China (24,8%), Phillipines (1,6%), USA (1,5%) and Thailand (1,6%). “Vityaz” oil is a new sort of oil, supplied by Sakhalin Energy. Analysts characterize this kind of oil as “a light, sweet oil, in quality close to the light oil from Oman ”. Read more »

Rosneft to develop shelf deposits with the Japanese

Rosneft has decided to cooperate with the Japanese on the shelf of Magadan and East Siberia after a conflict with its Chinese partners. According to the local  media, the Russian oil company will give up to 49% to a consortium of Japanese investors in the JV on exploration and development. The Inpex Corp., Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp. (JOGMEC) and oil traders might join the consortium.

Gazprom and Japanese companies analyze possible construction of LNG plant in Vladivostok

Gazprom Vice Chairman of the Board A. Ananenkov has met with the President, the CEO of Japan Far East Gas Co. Ltd Y. Matsukava. The sides have signed the Agreement for execution of the joint technical and economical research for realization in Vladivostok area of an LNG plant and a gas chemistry complex. The document presupposes studying of the possibility for realization of the pilot project for gas liquefying in the Vladivostok area and its further off-land transporting. Read more »
