New Gazprom competitor has appeared in Russia

A new company will work on equal basis with monopolies of Gazprom and Rosneft in shelf development.
Zarubezhneft, a 100% state property, has appealed to the profile Russian agency about development of the state shelf, the chief of the company S. Kudryashov says. They do not report now where Zarubezhneft is going to operate. They reported before about the intention of the company to work at the deposits of the Barents, Chukotka and Caspian Seas. Zarubezhneft states that it’s going to develop shelf with its Vietnamese partners.

In the first 4 months, gas transit through the Ukraine decreased almost by 19% to 26.2 billion cubic meters

In January-April of 2013, the gas transit through the Ukraine to states of Western Europe and the CIS decreased almost by 19% as compared to the same period of the last year to 26.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas, Ukrtransgas reported on Tuesday.
“According to operating data of the Ukrtransgas’ Central Dispatch Department, from the beginning of 2013, the supply of imported “blue fuel” to the Ukrainian gas-transportation system decreased by 19%,” – the report says.

Gazprom accepts the idea of the new Polish gas pipeline

Gazprom keeps developing the idea of construction of Yamal-Europe-2 gas line bypassing Ukraine.
The project of Yamal-Europe-2 is compared favorably with other projects of gas delivery to Eastern Europe due to the arrangements with Poland, the Head of Gazprom, Aleksey Miller said.
“Yamal-Europe-2 announced this year is really important for such countries as Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. Thus, its fulfillment will obviously improve the reliability and stability of gas delivery to these countries. At the same time I’d like to notice that this project has a number of important advantages”, he said.

The Ukraine to start gas import through Slovakia in test mode

Today Kiev will take the next step on the road to diversification of energy resources import to the Ukraine, started test supplies of natural gas through Slovakia in reverse mode, the Prime transmits.
Earlier the Ukrainian operator of main pipelines and underground gas storages Ukrtransgas offered the Slovakian party to use one of four interstate gas strings that connect the both countries.
The Head of the Republic’s Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry Eduar Stavitsky reported on Monday that the test gas import might last about 7-10 days. By its results, the country “will receive the possibility to attract supplies of natural fuel on this route that will influence decrease of price at our gas market”.

Export of oil and gas condensate from Kazakhstan reduces by 1.2% in Q1

In January-March 2013 Kazakhstan exported 16.5 million tons of oil and gas condensate – by 1.2% less than in Q1, 2012, the republican statistics agency reported.
In monetary terms export of oil and gas condensate made up $13.655 billion USD – by 0.6% less than in Q1, 2012.

Russia and Vietnam exchange access to each others oil and gas markets

Vietnamese oil and gas companies are trying to strengthen their positions in Russia in exchange for the access to its national shelf and sales market for Russian oil and gas companies. Having signed the agreements about expansion of cooperation, Vietnamese party asked Russian government for new deposits in Nenets autonomous district. Besides, Vietnam can obtain access to Russian shelf if Rosnedra (Russian Agency on Subsoil Use) accept the application of its partner Zarubezhneft. Experts say, expansion of Petrovietnam to Russia is expectable.
Yesterday Zarubezhneft, Gazprom and Gazprom Neft signed a number of agreements with Vietnamese state Petrovietnam in the framework of the visit of Vietnamese PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng. The agreements are aimed at strengthening of Russian-Vietnamese cooperation in the sphere of oil and gas. The Heads of Petrovietnam and Zarubezhneft signed a memorandum about foundation of a joint drilling company. The Head of Zarubezhneft says, Vietsovpetro (the JV in Vietnam) has four drilling vessels and the fifth is under construction. Besides, Russian company has two vessels. “We can make up a good drilling company which can become one of top-20 largest enterprises in this sphere. We only need to calculate everything attentively and make the feasibility study of the project”, General Director of Zarubezhneft specified.

Gunvor to pour out oil – the trader to switch over to oil products and gas

Recently the main seller of Russian oil, trader Gunvor of Gennady Timchenko and Torbjorn Tornqvist, for the first time officially disclosed detailed structure of its business and financial rates in 2010-2012. It emerged that Gunvor received the main part of its proceeds in the amount of $248 billion in the last three years from sale of oil products. At the same time, the trader actively increases the gas share in its trade operations, but LNG sales, which export may be liberalized, are not large for while.
This week, Gunvor is going to place a debut issue of eurobonds for $300 million,Bloomberg reported yesterday and the Kommersant’s sources in banking community confirmed. The bonds are planned to be issued for 5 years with price guidance of 6.5% per annum. The eurobonds prospectus (which the Kommersant has) notes that funds are planned to be attracted for “corporate-wide aims, which may include acquisitions, investments and capital costs”. Gunvor refused to specify for what the company was going to spend money. Gennady Timchenko and Torbjorn Tornqvist, who own voting shares in equal parts, are still listed as shareholders of Gunvor; a small package of non-voting securities is distributed among Top-Managers.

In the first 4 months, oil production in Azerbaijan decreased by 3.4%, and gas by 1.7%

In January-April of the current year, the oil production in Azerbaijan made up 14.3 million tons that is by 3.4% less as compared to the same period of 2012, the country’s Statistics Committee reported on Tuesday.

Sumy NPO has built gas refining utility at Mubarek gas refinery

Sumy NPO in h. of Frunze JSC has built a gas refining utility for production of propane-butane mix at Mubarek gas refinery in Uzbekistan, the representative of the Ukrainian enterprise L. Naumov says at the exhibition Oil & Gas Uzbekistan 2013. They completed turnkey construction of all 3 lines and now supervise the project within the bounds of the contract. The utility could be launched before the end of June after installation of additional technological equipment.

In the first 4 months, Ukrtatnafta decreased processing by 21%

In January-April of the current year, the processing of crude oil at the Kremenchug refinery (Ukrtatnafta, controlled by the group Privat) decreased by 20.6% (210 thousand tons) as compared to the same period of 2012 to 817.7 thousand tons, the statistics of the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy and the Coal Industry shows.
