Kazakhstan and Japan have signed the agreement for oil and uranium extraction and refining

The Minister of External Affairs of Kazakhstan, E. Kazykhanov and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Y. Edano  have signed several documents connected with cooperation of the state in the sphere of minerals production and oil refining. Japan is ready to offer Kazakhstan new technologies for the improving of resources production. Gas supply by Nord Stream renewed after the planned works - official

The gas transportation was shut down on April 15th.
The gas flow has been restarted after the planned 2-week shut down of the gas pipeline. Nord Stream has completed the works on the fixing of the control systems, that in future will allow to integrate 2 branches of the Nord Stream gas pipeline into a single automated system, is reported.
Nord Stream says within the 2 weeks of the shut down the integrated control system was set up and tested and the necessary certificates were obtained.  Read more »

Italy is ready to sign intergovernmental agreement on South Stream

Italy is ready to sign the intergovernmental agreement on its participation in the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline, the Ambassador of Italy in Russia, A. Zanardi Landi said.
The shareholders of the company’ operator of the offshore site of South Stream - South Stream Transport AG – are Gazprom (50%), Eni – 20%, Wintershall – 15% and EdF – 15%.
For the realization of the land part of the project Russia has signed the intergovernmental agreements with Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia and Austria. Read more »

Miller: commercial deliveries via the second leg of the Nord Stream pipeline to begin in October

The commercial gas deliveries via the second leg of the gas pipeline Nord Stream, connecting  Russia and Germany under the Baltic Sea, will be begin in October, Gazprom’s Head, Alexei Miller, confirmed at the meeting with Prime-Minister Vladimir Putin.

“We have begun the start-up works, in September the filling of the second spring with buffering commercial gas will start, and in October we will begin the commercial deliveries,” – Miller said. Read more »

Rosneft has agreed the 2nd stage of the deal with ExxonMobil

Rosneft and ExxonMobil have agreed the 2nd part of the deal on the foundation of a strategic alliance. Now the Russian company, which together with ExxonMobil will develop the deposits at the shelf of the Kara and Black seas, will join  projects in Texas, the Gulf of Mexico and Canada. The parties don’t release how much it will cost, but according to the sources of Kommersant, it is about not more than $100 mln without the investment into the development. Read more »

Wintershall wants to reach an agreement with Gazprom

The largest German gas company Wintershall, a subsidiary of the German chemical company BASF, is about to achieve an agreement with Gazprom about the exchange of shares before the end of the year. Gazprom may get a share in gas production at the deposits of Wintershall at the shelf of the North Sea. What parts are offered to Gazprom is not known so far. Wintershall has approximately 30 oil-and-gas sites, mostly at the shelves of Germany, Norway and Great Britain. Novatek continues negotiations about the sale of 29% in Yamal LNG project with Qatar and India investors. Yamal LNG presupposes the creation of the capacities for LNG production, storing and dispatch on the basis of the South Tambey deposit. SEC reserves are 418 billion cubic m of gas and 15 million tons of gas condensate. PRMS reserves are 802 billion cubic m of gas and 31 million tons of gas condensate. The project presupposes the construction of an LNG plant with annual capacity of 15 million tons a year and production up to 1 million tons of gas condensate. Read more »
