EuroChem makes peace with its contractor

EuroChem and its former contractor Shaft Sinkers have signed a settlement agreement after three years of litigation over the construction of a potash mine at the Gremyachinskoye deposit. The chemical company demanded more than $900 million for the use of notoriously inefficient technologies and missed deadlines of the project. Terms of the settlement agreement weren’t disclosed, but lawyers believe that they must be beneficial to both parties.
EuroChem of Andrei Melnichenko has managed to settle the dispute on the Gremyachinskoye deposit with its former contractor Shaft Sinkers. All judicial and arbitration proceedings in respect of the construction company and its shareholdes - International Mineral Resources BV- are terminated or revoked. The parties don’t disclose the terms of the settlement agreement. Sources of the Kommersant on the market state that EuroChem will receive from the contractor "much less than it claimed in court".

Rosneft and EuroChem agree on cooperation in monetization of hydrocarbons of north-eastern part of the East-Urengoy site of Rospan

During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Rosneft and EuroChem have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the project of monetization of hydrocarbons of the north-eastern part of the East-Urengoy licenses area of Rospan International. The document was signed by chairman of the Rosneft’s Board Igor Sechin and general director of EuroChem Dmitry Strezhnev.

Eurochem plans to buy new gas asset

Eurochem plans to buy 100% of Astrakhan oil and gas company (ANGK), which owns the license for the right-bank part of the Astrakhan oil and gas condensate field. The purchase should increase the provision of the chemical holding company with its own raw materials.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia has decided to prolong the consideration of the request on the purchase of 100% of the Astrakhan oil and gas company’s shares by Eurochem for two months, the RIA Novosti reported on Tuesday, referred to the Service. At the same time, the Service noted that the requested deal might lead to a limitation of competition.
