Nord Stream 2 agreement to be signed at at the Eastern forum in Vladivostok

As the Kommersant has got to know, Gazprom may sign a binding shareholder agreement on a new gas pipeline through the Baltic Sea - Nord Stream 2 - at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok in early September. Shell, OMV, E.On and Wintershall each will receive 10% of the project company, already established in Switzerland, 9% more could be got by French Engie. The signing will be an important step for Gazprom in the way of the rejection of Ukrainian transit, but analysts wonder the choice of location for the conclusion of the agreement: it indirectly suggests that important agreements with Asian companies in Vladivostok gas are not expected.

Gazprom is going to sign a shareholder agreement on the Nord Stream project 2 during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok (September 3rd-5th), sources familiar with the negotiations told the Kommersant. According to the Kommersant’s information, four companies, which already officially declared their participation in the project - Anglo-Dutch Shell, Austrian OMV, German E.On and Wintershall - will receive 10% of the project company. Gazprom shall retain 51%: thus 9% will be got by another investor. According to sources of the Kommersant, this share is likely to be received by French Engie (former GdF Suez), but the negotiations on this matter haven’t yet been completed.
